The ideas and theories presented in "They Say/I Say" could easily and, I feel, successfully be used in a peer tutoring situation. I think it will help to create an environment that is more conversational as opposed to "I'm the teacher, you're the student." The they say, I say template allows a writer to understand both perspectives of an argument. In the same way, I can use that method with my tutee. I can give my perspective on his/her paper and they can give it back. We can also look at what are the strong points, as well as the weaknesses.
I think reading this book is going to help me in the peer tutoring situation and help me delve deeper into the process, therefore, helping the tutee to the best of my ability.
