In the first essay, Perl explains her study on the composition processes of unskilled college writers. What she found was that, out of 5 students, they all followed the "pre-write, write, revise" format. She concluded that this method seemed to be more innate them originally suspected.
The second essay focuses more on the revision strategies among student writers and experienced adult writers. The findings in this study were a little different. The author, Sommers, found that between the two groups, student writers were much less efficient in their revising habits.
